SIGN UP NOW for 1-day class to make this beautiful silk vessel on Saturday, April 21st. No prior experience necessary! Using raw silk from silk cocoons you will embed beautiful fibers and create a vessel that you can illuminate with an LED tea lite or use to hold precious items.

New socks made on my circular sock machine from our beautiful new arrival - Huasco Sock Hand Painted, 433 yards, 75% Superwash Merino Wool/25% Polyamide by Araucaria.
Thanks to my dad who made my wonderful bobbins for the antique sock machine winder (He made the bases & imbedded old spindles from the Amana Woolen Mill).

Yarn Shoppe Mystery (What does Sherri do with her time?) Since we checked in last...
- Making new sock samples for vending at "PIGS" - People in Glorious Socks retreat
- Ordered trainloads of new sock yarns to take to "PIGS"
- Ordered fibers to stock up Northern lights; and other favorites. Ordered fibers for a breed study that a spinning group is undertaking! Will make up sample packs for each group member when it arrives.
- Registered to vend at the Iowa Spinner's and Weavers guild event on April 14th in Iowa City
- Caregiving for my mother who had major shoulder surgery. She is doing great and has a bionic shoulder now!! She's a tough cookie!

HOLIDAY THEMED HATS & BOOTIES For The Preemie Project
For 2018 will be doing one year-long project rather than several different projects every
other month. We will be making holiday themed hat/bootie sets for The Preemie Project.
Following is the schedule of holidays and deadlines:
January & February – Easter/Spring theme deadline – 3/3/18
March & April – 4th of July (red/white/blue) deadline – 5/5/18
May, June & July – Cy-Hawk Challenge deadline – 8/4/18
August & September – Halloween deadline - 9/29/18
October & November – Christmas/Winter deadline – 12/1/18
Finished projects may be dropped off at The Fiber Art Shoppe
