"Tentacles" is a clay sculpture by Fairen Stark, a student at Leland & Gray Union High School in nearby Townshend, VT. It's part of a display of area high school student-made 3-dimensional works during the 38th Student Art Month sponsored by the Arts Council of Windham County. Vermont Artisan Designs hosts this portion of the event each March. Visitors have been able to vote for their favorites to select a series of People's Choice winners.

Marc Winnat is featured as one of 12 artists to watch in Artscope Magazine's 12th anniversary issue. Photo-realistic artist Marc Winnat, whose work is available at Vermont Artisan Designs, is self-taught, and is capturing the attention of collectors. The reclusive artist's newest work includes images of railroad engines, stations and landscapes.

Looking ahead: The annual Vermont Crafts Council's Open Studio Weekend is slated for Memorial Day Weekend in May. Vermont Artisan Designs will once again be in information center for the tour and will have maps and samples of works.
