Celebrate October with a visit to
Vermont Artisan Designs!  It's Craft Month!

Vermont Gov. Phil Scott has once again proclaimed October as Craft Month, an extension of the national American Craft Week in our state, to recognize the talented individuals who not only make wonderful products by hand, but also help grow our economy.

Here at Vermont Artisan Designs, we're helping make the ninth annual American Craft Week an event that will be memorable. Vermont is a sponsor of the nationwide observance slated this year from Oct. 5-14. The Vermont Crafts Council participates in ACW with its Fall Open Studio Weekend, this year on Oct. 13 and 14. You may pick up a map for the tour at Vermont Artisan Designs and plan your visits to the many open studios -- both local and throughout the state -- where you'll see potters, glassblowers, woodworkers, fiber artists, metalworkers and more, crafting beautiful objects just for you.  See www.americancraftweek.com.

Gallery Walk on Oct. 5 at Vermont Artisan Designs features Paul G. Stone's landscape paintings. (See top of page.) Stone sketches on site, but paints in his studio, His use of color often stretches the viewer's imagination.
Also featured for October are new paintings by Linda Dessaint and Appel Bronstein. Dessaint's work includes oil and pastel works. Bronstein's work is more abstract and includes watercolors and oils. Silver jewelry by Jeff Gray, unusual cork bracelets by Anya Byam, a sculptural pottery collaboration between Will Finkel and Lauryn King, new blown glass by Josh Simpson and continued work by plein air artists Beth Bathe, Olena Babak and Andre Lucero, will make a visit worthwhile.
