Movie Showings at OLC: "Heaven"
Thursday, October 3rd, 1:00 pm & 7:00 pm
This documentary brings to life the beautiful landscapes and perfect serenity described in the book Climbing the Mountain by Anne, a lay apostle. Anne conveys her experience being taken to Heaven by Jesus, and her work has received a nihil obstat and imprimatur from the Church. Discover the lack of separation between Heaven and Earth and gain a better understanding of what Heaven is like. It just may take the fear out of dying. The Heaven DVD and book will be available to attendees for a small suggested donation. Information on Anne can be found HERE. You may already have noticed we carry booklets by Anne in our donation section down the hall, made available by a generous benefactor and kept supplied by our patron, Kelly Molino. These booklets cover a wide range of issues, giving courage and hope.

IN THE NEWS...

Rosary Making for the MD State Fair
Patrons of all ages enjoyed learning how to make rosaries, courtesy of two Legion of Mary Praesidium which meet at Our Lady of Perpetual Help: Mary Most Humble and Virgin Most Merciful (junior). Erika Lucas, the president of the first was accompanied by a member of the second. The Legions provided supplies including beads of all colors and demonstrated the knotting technique. Each participant could keep one rosary, if they wished, and the rest were donated to be given away at the Maryland State Fair in hopes of spreading this beautiful and powerful devotion far and wide. A total of 125 rosaries were donated including 35 from OLC. The report from the fair indicates that all of them were distributed! Many thanks to all who participated!

A Joyful Visit from the All Saints Sisters
We were delighted to welcome Sister Christina, the prioress of the All Saints Sisters Priory in Catonsville, to tell us about their order, their conversion from Anglicanism, and their charism, as well as her own fascinating journey. Rev. Warren Tanghe, a former Episcopal priest who served as their chaplain and also converted and became a Roman Catholic priest, was filling in at noon Mass that day and was the perfect person to introduce Sr. Christina. He is currently residing on the grounds of the All Saints Sisters, having recently retired from serving as pastor of St. Paul's. Learn about Fr. Tanghe's and the sisters' conversions on an episode of EWTN's Journey Home with Marcus Grodi HERE. Virginia, a postulant with the All Saints Sisters, also came and shared her own calling in the hopes of inspiring other women to discern God's will for their lives and finding their purpose and their joy.

Mary Our Queen Always Provides!
On the day before the Feast of the Queenship of Mary, we found ourselves in need of a priest to celebrate Mass. None of our "regulars" were available, nor even our regular back-ups. Amazingly, as we were discussing our need in the Bookstore, a very distinguished shopper came forward to offer his services. You may recognize him. He is Rev. Edmund Sylvia of the Congregation of the Holy Cross who has been featured on EWTN. Fr. Sylvia happened to be in town from Florida and was delighted to be able to celebrate Mass on a feast day of Our Lady at a shrine dedicated to her, and we were very grateful to have him! Learn more about him HERE.
