All Souls Day Memorial Mass
Tuesday, November 2nd, 12:00 noon
We shall remember and pray for our loved ones who have passed on and especially remember the souls of all the patrons and benefactors who supported OLC through their time, talent and treasure throughout these past 47 years. The official name of this Mass is the Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed, a day of remembrance. On this important day we Catholics pray, celebrate Mass, visit cemeteries, and give alms in memory of those who may be in Purgatory, in hopes that their souls will be released to Heaven. Be sure to have the names of your loved ones added to our book of remembrance which will be placed on the altar at Mass on All Souls Day.

St. Nicholas Coming to Town!
Monday, December 6th 10:30 am
Bring the children to OLC to meet St. Nicholas, Bishop of Myra, on his feast day! Children will leave their shoes in the downstairs hallway and then head up to the Chapel with their parents and grandparents. St. Nicholas will surprise them there and tell them about his life, his love of the Lord, and his joy of giving. Afterwards, all are invited to the Conference room for Cookies, coloring and an opportunity to get photos with St. Nick!

Please RSVP if you can so St. Nicholas knows how many bags of chocolate coins to have on hand for the children's shoes or if an alternate treat is needed due to dietary restrictions.

We have added a special vigil evening Mass to accommodate all those who may wish to come to Our Lady's Center to honor the Blessed Virgin on this Marian holy day of obligation.

The Bookstore will be open Tuesday, December 7th until 7:00 pm Vigil Mass for those who would like to shop beforehand.

Learn about the history and theology of this doctrine HERE and join us beginning Nov. 30th in praying this novena to the patroness of our suffering and torn nation, she who crushes the head of the serpent.

Bring a dish if you wish. We hope that you do.
The more food the merrier for this hungry crew!
Let us know what you're bringing. We do like Egg Nog.
Baked Ham, Wassail, perhaps a Yule Log.
Sugar Cookies and Chocolates are always in fashion.
Just bring enough (we don't want to ration).
Most importantly though, just bring your good cheer
All those who love Christmas are welcome here!

NEW! Jobs Board at OLC!
These are challenging times! We want to help our patrons who are searching for employment to connect with those who have openings. We also want to help support the businesses of our patrons. You are welcome to post your need or a business card. Take a photo of anything of interest rather than removing the posting. All items posted are subject to Board approval and may be removed at our discretion.

OLC wished a very Happy 100th Birthday to Manager Christine's mother, Sylvia James George. She attended Mass, received a special blessing, and enjoyed cake, ice cream, flowers and well-wishes from the staff and patrons of OLC. She is a beautiful reflection of Our Lady in her life-affirming love that has born as its fruit 60 direct descendants! Sylvia also enjoyed a very successful career as a Master Fine Artist at Savage Mill for over 30 years after raising her children.

Dozens of blankets recently completed by the Blanketeers at OLC were recently blessed at Mass and then loaded into Carolyn's SUV to be distributed to children in need. To date almost 800 blankets have been completed by the volunteers who come twice a month, on the second and fourth Tuesdays after noon Mass. More blanketeers are always needed. If you can tie a knot, you can make a blanket. Also, donations toward the cost of the material are very helpful. Kam Comastro, pictured with Carolyn, has discovered how to get the most bang for the buck from JoAnn Fabrics through a bulk buying program, acquiring bolts of fleece in various adorable patterns at bargain pricing.

We were honored to host a visit by Msgr. Jeremiah Kenney who spoke of the many saints he has known in his time as a priest.

Former employee Paul Krebs, who is attending Benedictine college in Kansas, surprised us with a visit. It was good to see him.

The annual America Needs Fatima Rosary Rally held at OLC was well attended.

Many thanks to Kelly Molino and her lovely daughter Faith in leading a little lesson on Rosary Making for our patrons on the Feast of the Holy Rosary. We will be planning another lesson soon!

Why Shop at OLC?
You can feel good about shopping here! We have been trying for some time now, for both ethical and quality reasons, to avoid stocking many items produced in China. As a result, we have not suffered the supply chain issues that many other establishments have been experiencing. In fact, we are very well-stocked, full of items made in the USA, Italy, Portugal, Colombia, Equador, Brazil, South America and other countries, and our items are produced by Catholic religious orders, companies and apostolates. OLC is a non-profit 501c3, and all sales go toward supporting our little shrine and ministry of bringing people to Christ through Mary. And, while Amazon will likely not miss your support, we are very, very grateful for it! Every First Saturday Mass is offered for the intentions of our patrons and benefactors, and this means you! For those items you do need to purchase on Amazon, please use AmazonSmile and select "Our Lady's Center" as your charity. We will receive a donation from each sale. Thank you! - OLC Staff
