Up next we are bringing back an old favorite Ella Rae's Cozy Alpaca.
The cozy Alpaca is a soft, cuddly, easy-care acrylic/alpaca blend provides great stitch definition for all your worsted-weight knitting and crocheting requirements, and best of all it is machine washable! So think baby garments/ blankets as well as EAZZZY care garments - no felting with this yarn!

Also launching this month, is Ella Rae's Eco-Tweed. This has to
be the softest tweed in the world and a dream to work with - it is a DK weight yarn - check it out! I made the Seeking Solace bandana out of the DK paired with Junction Fiber yarn.

As I just mentioned, Junction Fiber Mill yarn will also be on the table, fun fun colorways! Made with 100% American Falkland wool, hand-dyed in small batches and spun in their mill in White River Junction, VT. Each skein is unique.

From Laine du Nord, we have a linen cotton blend for all those summer tees and scarves - a beautiful hand on this yarn as well!
So be sure to join us on Friday April 7th as we launch these fun yarns @ our Trunk Show/ Social knit.

Time to try something new!  Our new space has allowed us to add a number of new classes. Check out all the non-fiber related workshops: flower arranging, needle felting, painting, embroidery and coming soon, stamping. We also have a wonderful line-up of guests in upcoming Fiberside Chats - names you might not know, but techniques you will recognize!

There are still openings in several of our  daytime knitting & crochet classes, the April calendar is just as full as it can get. Check it all out.

Here is the Quandry of the week ....  what do you do with leftovers??  I am working on the Striations Shawl (sample for LYS Day) - this version calls for minis ...  and when I follor the pattern I have this little bit (5grms) left before switching to the next color ... so should I:
1) finish with an extra couple of rows and use up the 5 grams or
2) switch colors now as the pattern reads & find something to do such a scrap scarf with the leftover ....  knowing that 5 grams equals about 20 yards.... so my project will be a bit longer or I could drop off a color..... or option
3) make tassels .....  hmmm - your thoughts??

We wanted to thank you all again!!
Our life experiences are all different, but our desire to make a positive contribution through our love of making brought us together in the most extraordinary way. Huge appreciation to each and every one of you who supported Team Craftworks in the Knit-athon - together with over 600 knitters around the country, we raised $340,000 to combat hunger and food insecurity and create awareness. Y'all are CHANGE MAKERS!
That equates to 3,400,000 meals to those that are hungry! We raised over $1600 for the team and an additional $650 for the Northborough Food Pantry!! Way to go ladies! & Kudos to Andrea R-W who lasted the FULL 12 hours with us! Thank you all!!

Tidbits:
Do you do some guessing when you block a sweater? One of my tricks: I have the outline of one of my favorite sweaters on a beach towel. Then align my blocking to that shape... no guessing needed, just make adjustments for the shape of your new sweater.

Dates of Import:
Saturday, April 22, National Take Back Drug Day, drop off any expired, unused drugs @ the Police Station between 10 - 2.
Friday April 28, Northborough Historical Society will be presenting a program on 18th to Early 20th Century Medicine: Doctors and Their Times. These meetings are open to the public so enjoy!
Ways to enjoy Spring ....
  • Go for a walk or hike. The fresh air and sunshine will do you good, and you might even get to see some spring flowers blooming.
  • Go bird-watching. Spring is a great time to see birds returning to their nesting grounds.
  • Visit a local farm or nursery. Many farms and nurseries offer spring-themed activities.
  • Have a potluck dinner with friends or family. Have everyone bring a dish that celebrates spring.
  • Do some gardening. Plant some flowers or vegetables, or start a new compost pile.
  • Learn a new skill. Take a knitting/ crochet class, learn a new language, or take up a new hobby.
  • Volunteer your time. There are many organizations that need volunteers in the spring.
  • Spend time with your loved ones. Take a walk, go for a bike ride, or just sit and talk.
  • Relax and enjoy the moment. Spring is a time of renewal and rebirth, so take some time to appreciate the beauty of the season, above all be good to yourself!
