We are a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization located in North Georgia providing hawk rescue and care for other raptors (birds of prey) including owls, eagles, falcons and osprey.
We operate our facility based on donations from caring people who, for one reason or another, aren’t in the position to be rehabbers themselves, but are interested in and dedicated to the preservation and protection of raptors.
We also do off site programs for schools, nature centers, scouts, birthday parties, public displays, etc. This is done on a fee basis. Please call for details!
Hacking for hawk rescue or owl rehabilitation.
Hacking is an old falconry technique that is literally, thousands of years old. Hacking (AKA soft release) is how we re-introduced the Golden Eagle back to the Cumberland Plateau in northwest Georgia, the American Bald eagle to the Lake Allatoona area north of Atlanta and the Peregrine Falcon in downtown Atlanta. We can help you with this procedure or provide it as a service.

Fundraiser update Our GoFundMe vehicle fundraiser has come to an end, and we want to thank each of you who contributed to the purchase of the used 4Runner! Because of your kindness and generosity, Hawk Talk keeps rolling! We also want to thank Monteen, who, for 40+ years, has cared for countless raptors, shared her love of these amazing birds and educated us along the way. We met Monteen when she opened her door to an injured owl found on Christmas Eve. We are grateful for all that she does. We hope you will continue to follow Hawk Talk and support it when you can. Georgia’s wildlife rehabbers do not receive state funding and are not paid for their work. Instead, they must rely upon donations from folks like us to help with the cost of food, medicine, shelter and transportation for the animals in their care. That is why we started the vehicle fundraiser and why we are thrilled to report its success.
