Fiber artist Sarah Tremaine designs and hand-makes garments and accessories with a timeless aesthetic for women. Working in her farm-studio at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, she uses all natural fibers, plant materials and natural fabrics. Sarah uses natural dyes and the techniques of botanical printing to achieve colors that are rich, complex and naturally harmonious. You can find her silk scarves in the gallery now.

Catherine Labonte -- Cat Designer Verrier
Catherine Labonte was fascinated by cartoons as a child and eventually began to draw her own characters. While studying fine art she continued to be inspired by her small characters and wanted to bring three dimensionality to them. She chose to work in glass because of the simple lines, the brightness, it’s translucent and colorful nature as well as the technical challenges it presents.

Susy Siegele and Michael Haley colored porcelain
"The use of the human figure and the stylized animal motif has been a recurrent theme in art, especially in pottery making, for thousands of years. We are lucky enough to live in a time and place in which we can see images of this long tradition almost instantaneously, either in person, in books, or over the Internet. We are inspired by the cave paintings of Lascaux and Altamira, by petroglyphs from the desert southwest, the Anasazi culture and the Tassili region of southern Algeria, and by pictographs from Zimbabwe and South Africa, not to mention the use of figures in Grecian and Mayan pottery." ~ Susy and Mike

Atlas Obscura discovers the
Cedar Creek Gallery National Teapot Show XI
The Cedar Creek Gallery National Teapot Show XI will get an international boost with this feature article on Atlas Obscura. The website bills itself as the definitive guide to the world's hidden wonders and showcases more than 20,000 of the world's most interesting, curious and exciting places, experiences and foods. We are thrilled to be included in their quirky world of wonder!
As longtime Cedar Creek patrons know, our National Teapot Shows feature around 200 teapots by artists working not only in ceramics, but in unexpected mediums such as wood, fiber, metal and more. They can be whimsical, traditional, delicate, fierce and fun . . . just to name a few of the characteristics.

Meet the Cedar Creek Gallery Staff:
Les Webster
Les recently earned his Masters degree in Business Design and Arts Leadership from the Savannah College of Art and Design. While taking one final class for his degree, Les decided he wanted to work at Cedar Creek. Les had been a longtime customer and he and his wife, Nancy, share fond memories of buying her engagement ring here many years ago. Les and Nancy, who's also a touring Broadway musician, share their home and bucolic landscape with Brodie, a 75-pound Catahoula Leopard dog.
Les has become the gallery's social media guru and we are thrilled he came to work with us a year ago this month.
When Les is not behind the counter at Cedar Creek Gallery he can be found in the orchestra pit of a touring Broadway show as a drummer/percussionist, sometimes playing as many as 30 different percussion instruments!
