How has your February been? Did you finish any projects? Be sure to post some pictures, or bring the project in for show and tell.....  we love to brag for you!!

We will be highlighting several of our Women Artists in March, be sure to stop in and check out their creativity, and grab a discount!
Laura Nelkin is again hosting the Knit for Food Knit-a-thon. Hers is a 12 hour knitting marathon to raise funds and awareness for food insecurity. The funds raised will be equally divided between Feeding America, World Central Kitchen, No Kid Hungry, and Meals on Wheels.
Last year knitters raised $340,000 for her effort and we collected/ donated over $600 to Northboro Food Pantry! A great way to raise money for a great cause with our knitting needles!!

We are hosting a team to collect money for this effort. Additionally, as we did last year, feel free to make a donation either financial or by dropping off food that will be donated to Northboro Food Pantry. We will be gathering around our table from 12-4 on Sat March 23rd, to knit together with our TV on to zoom with Laura's group! Join us won't you?

Our FEATURED items for March include
Flexi-flip needles and Purple Heart Crochet hooks.

addi FlexiFlips allow you to cast-on to an effortless new method of knitting socks, cuffs, hats, and many of other projects which are worked in the round. These specially designed 3.5" tips with 1" cord (21cm) circulars rest comfortably in the hand and act as flexible double pointed needles.

The Purple Heart Crochet Hook is designed to let you crochet for hours in comfort. Made from one piece of solid wood it is very light but strong, while the depth of the recess for your fingers is designed to let you control the hook without having to contract the muscle in your thumb. The hook easily catches yarn and inserts into stitches without causing splitting. The shaft is the same diameter from the throat to the handle so your loops will not widen if you push deeper into the knot. The wood also warms to the heat of your hand and feels very comfortable.
Stop in and try both of these out! (oh and grab a 15% discount while you are at it!)

FEATURED WOMEN ARTISTS: The first week of March we are featuring our potters & Emma's yarn.
Carol: Carol's pottery features earthy tones with patterns, especially those formed by dots. She crafts her pieces with a wheel and by hand. An avid garderner, nature has provided Carol with a constant source of inspiration for her art. She said she's fortunate to live next to the Upton State Forest and Lake Whitehall in Hopkinton, and according to her she focuses on using her "own value system to interpret images from nature."

Catherine: Worcester Center for Crafts provides Catherine studio space where she is able to produce hand thrown, hand-fired pottery pieces that are just lovely. A technique that she particularly enjoys is 'raku'. These functional and decorative items are one of a kind, and make lovely gifts!

Sue: Sue makes every piece by hand in her home-studio and also offers classes to teach others. She mainly works with stoneware and porcelain, and creates all of the glaze colors herself. Sue's handmade pottery consists of nature inspired pieces, with strong bee, dragonfly, birds and flowers themes. She enjoys making lovely intricately designed mugs, trays, yarn bowls, flower frogs and mason jar charms!

Emma’s Yarn was started by Emma, a (then) 15 year-old homeschooled student who fell in love with dyeing yarn when learning ratios in her math lesson. Her eye for color is amazing! It wasn’t long before she started selling small batches in her parents’ yarn shop, and when that proved to be successful, moved production from her kitchen to a dye studion downtown. Her sister, Aspen, joined her after graduating college and together they built Emma's Yarn into what it is today.
